Door of Hope
We have had answer to extensive prayer! God has led LS, a qualified South African registered nurse
Social Worker with children’s home experience to us. His timing is perfect and again, He has shown us how faithful He is in His provision. LS will start with us on 01 November 2007.
This also means that we can re-open our baby houses in Berea and Yeoville. Please pray that God has His hand upon us in the process.
Volunteers
SH has recently joined the ministry to take over from SM, who will return to her native Canada on 11 December 2007. We give thanks to God for SH. She had never been to Africa but felt led to commit herself to serve with us for a minimum of 2 years. Glory be to God. And we give thanks to SM, who at age 24 has already served full-time with the Door of Hope for 3 years. May God continue to be powerfully present in her life.
We are richly blessed with international volunteers from the US, England and Australia at present. Please pray with us against home sickness and stomach bugs, something many of our volunteers have to deal with at the beginning of their time with us. Please also pray that they draw even closer to God and that their experiences at Door of Hope leave life-long imprints on their hearts!
We currently have a baby boy with us who was born with a cleft palate. He is the most adorable little boy. May we ask you to pray with us that his upcoming operations will be a resounding success and that he will feel God’s love for him from a very early age onwards.
We also have, among others, a little girl, who in the first year of her life needed 2 major heart operations. Please give a prayer of thanksgiving as the recent 2nd operation was very successful. Our gratitude goes to the nurses and doctors at Jo’burg General Hospital.
